[ Levin Lank died in his 49th year, intestate, without a will, and thus his widow Naomi acted as administratrix in the Orphan’s Court probate proceedings to settle the estate. The following language, spelling and script represent my best attempts to replicate the original documents…HLP ]

Know all men by these presents that We Naomi Lank ---- of
the County afs Widow ---- and Robert Jones ---- of said County Yeoman ---- are
held and firmly bound unto his Excellency the President of the Delaware State
in the Sum of One thousand Pounds of lawful Money of said State to be paid to
the said President or his Successor the President for the time being to which payment
will and truly to be made and done. We bind ourselves our This [illegible]
and Admoss [sic:] jointly and severally firmly by these
presents Sealed with our Seals and dated the Twenty fourth day of November Anno
Domini One thousand seven hundred & Eighty four.
The
Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden Naomi Lank ---- Administratrix
of all and Singular the Goods Chattles & Credits of Levin Lank ---- late of
Sussex County Yeoman dec’d do make or cause to be made a true and perfect
Inventory of all and Singular the Goods Chattles & Credits of the said
dec’d which have or shall come to her hands possession or Knowledge of her the
said Naomi Lank --- or to the hand, possession or Knowledge of any other person
or persons for her and the same so made shall exhibit into the Register’s
Office for the County afs on or before the Twenty fourth day of February next
ensuing, and the same Goods Chattles & Credits of the said dec’d or which
at any time after shall come to her hands possession or Knowledge or to the
hands or possession of any other person or persons for her do well and truly
administer according to Law. And further shall make or cause to be made a just
and true account of her said Administration on or before the Twenty fourth day
of November next ensuing. And all the rest and residue of the Goods Chattles
& Credits of the said dec’d which shall be found remaining on the said
Administratrix Account the same being first examined and allowed by the
Orphan’s Court for the County afs shall deliver & pay to such person or
persons respectively as the said Orphan’s Court by their decree or [illegible:
] shall limit and appoint
them this Obligation to be void and of none effect, or else to remain in full
force and virtue.
