Irwin E Messick, 91, of Tunkhannock and formerly of Dallas PA, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas PA.
Born in Wyoming PA he was a son of he late Thomas and Martha Parrish Messick and was a graduate of West Pittston High School. He resided in Dallas PA for most of his life.
Irwin had worked for the federal government with the U.S. Air Force in the petroleum industry. He retired after 22 years of service. He was a member of Fellowship Evangelical Free Church and was also a member and Past Master of Landmark Lodge No. 442 F&AM, Wilkes Barre, Keystone Consistory, Scranton, Mt. Horeb Council, Dieu Le Vent, Knights of the Red Cross, Knights Templar, St James Conclave, Irem Temple Shrine, Dallas Oneida Lodge Order of Odd Fellows, Dennis Strong American Legion, Tunkhannock.
Irwin served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
Irwin was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Bachman and brothers Jim and Bill Messick. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Cole, a daughter, Sue (Keith) Harvey, Vickie (Steve) Tupper, Jennifer (Andy) Knox, Jeff Bachman, Jodie Bachman, brother Harold Messick.
Funeral held at the Richard H Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Hwy, Dallas PA with the Rev Carl Dyrli, pastor of the Fellowship Evangelical Free Church, and the Rev. Betty Reilly, pastor of Tunkhannock Methodist Manor, officiating. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas PA.

Irwin married someone Helen Cole, daughter of Clifford Martin Cole and Ruie Inez Eddy,.
