Hazards History of Seaford, DE (1899) states:"James Scott was also one of seaford's early citizens. He supplied the citizens with fresh meat --- was brought into the M. E. Church ---(he) passed on many years past middle age, and died suddenly on the
street in Seaford. They left Four or five children, who have remained (about Seaford), except John, the eldest, who died many years ago." A History of Seaford by Wright Robinson (1932) states: "Robert Hopkins, James Scott, James and Robert Conwell, all from the eastern part of the county, settled in the village (during period
1810-1830)."The History of DE page 1311, states: "The Seaford post-office was established in 1826, and the postmasters have been Robert Hopkins, Jeremiah McNeilley, James Scott ---" James & Sarah had 10 children.
James married Sarah Ann in 1820. (Sarah Ann was born in 1803.)
