Lizzie Lank notes: "Grandmother Hayman was the daughter of Samuel Melson a local Dr. and Preacher. Their old home was later the Bill Scofield Parker home. Their burying ground was on the farm. Grandfather Jacob Hayman was buried there" as were "their 2 sons Samuel & Levin one daughter Eliza also Samuel Melsons family. She had ten children Sallie Hearn Sharp Daniel" [sic].

Mary married Jacob Hayman, son of Levin Hayman and Martha (Patty) Walston. (Jacob Hayman was born on Nov 1, 1806 and died before 1882.)
