bullet  General Notes:

Owned a farm in Freeland, Baltimore County, MD, where he raised his family (Source: Merle Lank Williams).

26 April 1910 Census for 1st Precinct, District 7, Baltimore County, MD: Mary E. E. Williams, 57, head, b. MD (father b. MD and mother b. PA); Annie L., 47, sister, b. MD (father b. MD and mother b. PA); Roger M., 12, b. WV (father b. MD and mother b. OH), nephew. Also in household is an uncle, 69, name illegible (Henry Hamble?).

5 Jan 1920 Census for Newark, NJ: Roger Williams, 22, b. WV (father b. MD and mother b. WV), boarder in household of Richard & Ruth Wist.

26 April 1930 Census for District 7, Baltimore County, MD: Visit #351. Household includes Rodger M. Williams, 32, working for an ice cream mfr, married at 27, b. WV (father b. MD and mother b. WV); Elizabeth A., 27, wife, married at 22, b. NY and parents b. Germany; Robert M., 2 11/12, son b. PA; Richard C., 1 8/12, son b. MD; Bettie Williams, grandmother, 77, widow, b. MD as were parents. Underneath Bettie [formerly Mary] Williams, 77, is Bettie A., 7, her niece, b. MD as were parents; Annie L., 67, her sister, b. MD as were parents; Woodrow W., 18, her brother-in-law. On same page and Visit #348 appears Rebecca Williams, head, 46, married, married at 16, b. WV (father b. OH and mother b. WV), not working; Luther M. Williams, son, 25, single, homeowner, b. MD (father b. MD and mother b. WV), general farmer; Nellie E., 19, single, b. MD; Gladys V., 16, dtr; Phyllis J., 12, dtr. -- these 4 children were b. MD, with father b. MD and mother b. WV. Her husband was Howell G. Williams, b. 1871 in MD. Unable to find Howell after 1900. It is conceivable that he moved around to find work where it was available to support his family and stayed with friends or relatives, since transportation in the early 1900s especially was slow and long, not like the easy commuting of today's standards.
